Before starting my university, career I spent a large part of my club career as a member of FC Regina with so many amazing coaches where I was given the opportunity to compete in club nationals 3 times. However, my youth football career kicked off in my hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario where I played the first part of my youth career with my youth club Lakehead Express.

Saskatchewan female athlete of the year 2021

  • Kareena Andersen - University of Regina

I’m a 4th year goalkeeper for the University of Regina Cougars. I grew up locally playing for a number of different clubs in Regina which lead me to committing at the U of R. I started coaching when I was 14 and it’s been a passion ever since. I’ve coached everything from two year olds to 18 year olds and can often be found running kids camps at the UofR, coaching Jr cougars around the province, and helping build the next generation of goalkeepers which is my main passion.

  • Stefan Vrska - Medicine Hat College

I’m a goalkeeper with over 10 years of experience, starting at FC Regina
when I was 9. During my time there, I played for the Blue Star team for
4 years, recording 16 clean sheets and helping the team finish 9th at
nationals. I now play for the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, where I’ve
recorded 53 saves which earned me two "Player of the Game" awards,
"Player of the Month," and "Rookie of the Year." In addition to playing,
I’ve spent the past two years coaching and mentoring goalkeepers, sharing
the knowledge I've gained from being trained by some of the best. I’m
passionate about both improving my own game and helping others grow.
This unique lineup of elite coaches is set to offer insight and guidance that is invaluable for any goalkeeper serious about elevating their game.
