Club Philosophy

FC Regina - Club Philosophy (Rewritten & Aligned to Strategic Plan 2024-28)

Futbol Club Regina (FC Regina) is Saskatchewan’s largest non-profit soccer club, providing accessible, development-driven programming for youth and adult players at every level of the game. Formed in 2014 through the merger of several long-standing Regina clubs, FC Regina is proud of its commitment to the Soccer for Life model and to offering meaningful soccer experiences from grassroots to elite competition.

The club operates under the leadership of a volunteer Board of Directors, supported by professional administrative and technical staff. Day-to-day operations are overseen by Executive Director TJ Singh, while all technical programming is guided by Technical Director Kevin Holness, whose extensive professional playing and coaching experience continues to shape the club’s strong technical identity.

We strive to instill a lifelong love of the game by offering quality programs for players of all ages and abilities. Whether athletes pursue high-performance pathways through Canada Soccer or choose to continue playing within our Men’s, Women’s, Co-ed, or Masters divisions, FC Regina ensures players are supported at every stage of their development. Many of our athletes have successfully advanced to collegiate and university programs across Canada and abroad.

Over 200 dedicated volunteers—coaches, managers, committee members, and officials—contribute to the strength of our club. FC Regina invests significantly in coach and referee development, providing ongoing education, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement. This commitment enhances the safety, quality, and consistency of the soccer experience for all participants.

Our Guiding Principles

FC Regina is committed to excellence, community, and a positive soccer culture grounded in the following philosophies:

Gender Equality

We ensure equitable access and opportunities for all participants, promoting fairness and inclusivity throughout the club.

High-Quality, Development-Centered Programming

We deliver technical programming that prioritizes long-term player development and progression along the FC Regina and Canada Soccer pathways.

Sportsmanship, Teamwork & Fair Play

We foster values that build character, respect, and responsible citizenship through the game.

Holistic Development

We nurture not only our players, but also our coaches, referees, volunteers, and the broader soccer community.

Promotion & Growth of the Game

We are committed to growing soccer in Regina by improving access, expanding program offerings, and strengthening community partnerships.

Community Relationships

We work collaboratively with schools, partner organizations, sponsors, and local agencies to support a strong, connected sporting community.

Vision

The Regina community is built on its enjoyment of soccer.

Mission

To help people become their best through positive soccer experiences.

Our Values

Fun

We believe soccer should be enjoyable for everyone. A positive environment that celebrates participation and happiness leads to stronger development and lasting engagement.

Inclusivity

Everyone is welcome at FC Regina. A diverse, multicultural membership enriches the club experience and strengthens our community.

Honesty

We value honesty as the foundation of trust, integrity, and accountability. We own our decisions, acknowledge mistakes, and act transparently.

Unity

We are one club with one voice. Every program, member, and volunteer contributes equally to the strength and identity of FC Regina.

Integrity

We act with integrity—doing what is right even when no one is watching. Our success depends on the actions and choices of each individual.

Master Goal (2024-2028)

By the end of 2028, participants will rate their enjoyment of FC Regina programs at 80% or higher.
