I am writing to express my interest in joining the board of Futbol Club Regina. As someone deeply invested in the sport of soccer and the development of youth through sports, I believe my experience and passion for mentorship, community building, and organizational growth can make a meaningful contribution to FCR’s future.
I have been involved in FCR for many years— as a player in the adult league, as a coach within the youth programs and as a parent of 2 FCR athletes. I have had the privilege of coaching multiple seasons, fostering not only skills but also confidence and teamwork in young players. I strongly believe in the transformative power of sports and the role they play in shaping resilient, goal-oriented youth.
Leadership and Board Experience
In addition to my involvement on the field, I currently serve on the board of Community and Social Impact Regina, where I also chair the data committee. This experience has equipped me with a strong understanding of governance, strategic planning, and community engagement—skills I believe are directly transferable to FCR’s board.
Professional Leadership
As an IT Director responsible for overseeing teams that manage enterprise applications, I bring leadership and operational expertise that complements the strategic needs of an organization like FCR. In my role, I have led cross-functional teams, managed vendor relationships, and driven complex projects to successful outcomes. This background enhances my ability to contribute to FCR’s organizational growth, technology initiatives, and long-term planning efforts.
Driving Organizational Improvement Through Data
I also lead a non-profit organization called Data for Good Saskatchewan, which focuses on empowering non-profits and local organizations to harness the power of data for better decision-making. I have worked closely with sports organizations to analyze registration data, identify trends in player retention and churn, and streamline operational processes. I am confident this expertise can provide valuable insights to help FCR continue to grow, adapt, and thrive in a competitive environment.
Mentorship and Youth Development
Beyond soccer, I am deeply committed to mentoring and coaching youth in various capacities. I coach flag football and serve as a coach for university students preparing for the JDC West Case Competition. My dedication to developing young leaders extends across sports, academics, and community programs—further aligning with FCR’s mission to nurture talent both on and off the field.
Why FCR?
I have 2 daughters that have fallen in love with soccer. This came after watching me play in the adult league in FCR, and has been fostered by currently playing in the U9 and U11 divisions. I believe in giving back to the organizations that shape our communities, and FCR holds a special place in my heart as both a player and coach. Joining the board would allow me to contribute to the club’s growth, enhance its impact on youth, and ensure that more children experience the joy and lifelong benefits of soccer.
Thank you for considering my application.
