Dear FC Regina Members,

We hope you all safe and sound. The past few weeks have been difficult for everyone and these are uncertain times in the soccer community. The Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) and Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) have been meeting regularly to discuss when soccer activities might resume. Right now, it looks like soccer will begin in May at the earliest, which is the regular start time for the FC Regina season.

The FC Regina Board of Directors has been meeting via teleconference on a weekly basis to discuss scenarios for the resumption of activities. Although our physical office is closed, our office staff are diligently working from home to prepare for the outdoor season. The Board cares deeply for our FC Regina family and we are committed to keeping our office staff employed during this difficult time. If you have questions about programming, field rentals, or refunds, please don’t hesitate to contact our staff.

Financial uncertainty is one of the major challenges facing all sports organizations in the next few months. The Board does not take its fiduciary duty lightly, and we are monitoring our expenditures during this time to ensure that all discretionary spending is eliminated. Although our club has reserves that could be utilized during this time, our goal is to not have to utilize them, and we are working to this end. Some of our core values as an organization are Loyalty and Teamwork, often these values are tested in the most difficult of times. We are committed to our FCR Members whether they are players, parents, and/or staff. We are committed to keeping our office staff employed during this difficult time, and we are pursuing Federal and Provincial funding to help offset these costs.

Typically, we have required members to pay their registration and/or sign up on an installment plan at the time of registration, we are waiving this requirement. To do this, you simply need to select “cash” from payment options when registering. Payment will be required in full, or installments arranged, in order to be able to participate once the season begins. We ask that you continue to register as normal, as we need to be able to plan for a successful start to our outdoor season. If the outdoor season is cancelled, participants will receive a full refund. The following is a link to our registration platform:

FC Regina will be ready to start the season as soon as we’re given the green light from the CSA and the SSA. We are preparing for multiple scenarios which could include a shortened season or alternate programming during the summer months.

Our Board of Directors is made up of players, coaches, and parents, and we are anticipating getting back onto the field as much as everyone else. In the meantime, please stay safe and let’s take care of each other.
